Monochromatic Butterfly

At SweetStamps.com's blog today our challenge theme is Monochromatic.  Please join us for your chance to win $20 of FREE stamps by entering your Monochromatic creation in our challenge.

I made this card because of a conversation I had with one of our customers at our SweetStamps.com, Fowlerville, MI retail store.  She mentioned she hated having to pay extra postage when she mailed a round card.  So I came up with this.

I started with a lavender round premade circle card from The Paper Cut (you could make one by folding a piece of card stock in half and cutting out the circle, just make sure you extend the die slightly over the folded edge so your circles stay together to form the card).  I scored both of the circles down the center and folded them in towards the center.  After die cutting the DL103A Italian Flourish Angel Wing from Cheery Lynn Designs from a piece of Double Mates Lovely Lilac card stock I embossed it with a Crafts-Too EF3055 Scrollworks embossing folder then cut this piece down the center.  I layered these pieces to the front halves of the card embellished both sides with strings of self adhesive pearls from Kaiser Craft and flowers from Petaloo.  I used adhesive to hold the left side of the card together forming a half circle.

For the inside of the card I used the same Angel Wing and Embossing folder (using the reverse side of the Lovely Lilac card stock and adhered this to the right inside of the card.  The Medium Monarch Butterfly and Angel Wings were die cut using the DL116 and DL116A both from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I added Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations paint to the angel wings before attaching the die cut butterfly.  I used the same pearls as the ones on the front of the card on the butterfly.  I stamped 9110 Butterfly Kisses from SweetStamps.com onto the same Double Mates card stock using Forget Me Not Shades Dye ink from SweetStamps.com then used deckle scissors to cut the words out and layered them to the dark side to the card stock and trimmed with deckle scissors.

The finished card will fold together to form a half circle and is able to fit in an A2 envelope for mailing.

Adorable card Sandy but the rules at Cheery Lynn state no back linking, you must make a new project. Maybe you can join the fun another time.
